Garden in the Round

The focal point of the Garden in the Round is the beautiful gazebo.  We have echoed the shape of the gazebo with mass plantings in rings around the garden.

The main colors of the area are purple and pink.  Pairing flowers that share the same color palette have a calm, pleasing look.  At the same time, we used contrast with bushes that have purple leaves and green leaves.  This can be seen in the Barberry ‘Rosey Glow’ versus the Spirea ‘Magic Carpet’ and the Viburnum ‘Newport’ versus the Weigela ‘Wine and Roses.’ Peonies  have been added to ring the gazebo.

As we plant, we are paying close attention to the height of the plants.  The outer border includes low growing, ground cover type plants such as liriope and sedum.  Then, scabiosa and lambs ear add height in the next ring of plants.  Also included in the plantings are two ‘The Fairy’ shrub roses, Salvia ‘East Friesland,’ Agastache ‘Desert Sunrise,’ and Ninebark ‘Burgundy Star.’ To add even more color and height, we have planted clematis and morning glories to climb the gazebo.

There is plenty to keep the hummingbirds, bees and butterflies happy and well fed in the Garden in the Round.

Jardín en la Ronda

El punto focal del Jardín en la Ronda es la hermosa glorieta. Hemos hecho eco de la forma de la glorieta con plantaciones en forma de anillos concéntricos alrededor del jardín.

Los colores principales de este Jardín son el morado y el rosa. La combinación de flores que comparten la misma paleta de colores proporciona un aspecto tranquilo y agradable. Al mismo tiempo, usamos una paleta de contraste con arbustos que tienen hojas moradas y hojas verdes. Es así como Agracejo Rojo contrasta con la espirea del Japón “Alfombra Mágica” y el durillo “Newport” con la weigela florida “Vino y Rosas”. Finalmente, agregamos peonías para completar el anillo alrededor de la glorieta.

A medida que plantamos, es fundamental prestarle mucha atención a la altura de las plantas. El borde exterior incluye plantas de crecimiento bajo que cubren el suelo, como liríopes y sedums. Luego, la escabiosa, y la oreja de cordero agregan altura en el siguiente anillo de plantas. También se incluyen dos rosas arbustivas Polyantha (Rosal de Hadas), Salvias ‘East Friesland’, Toronjil ‘Desert Sunrise’ y arbustos Ninebark ‘Borgundy Star’.
