Day Trip to Cheekwood Botanical Gardens in Nashville, TN
April 13, 2018
Come join our tour to the Cheekwood Estate and Gardens!
Cheekwood was the home of Leslie and Mable Cheek, built in 1929. The house and gardens were designed by architect Bryant Fleming and are set on 58 acres. The home was open to the public in 1960 and features a permanent art collection, art pottery, silver collection, historic interiors, and woodland sculpture trail. We will be visiting during the Cheekwood in Spring exhibit which features hundreds of thousands of tulip bulbs, so bring your cameras!!
Lunch will be at Puckett’s Grocery and Restaurant — good down home southern comfort food in a charming setting!
Then on to the home of our 7th president Andrew Jackson, The Hermitage. The house was built in 1819, and rebuilt in 1834 after suffering a fire. Here we will visit the mansion, gardens, and visitors center to learn about this controversial president before we begin our trip home.
Price if booked by Dec. 15, 2017 is $127.
This will be included on the Lifestyle tour schedule and will be open to anyone.

(a note from Cheekwood …
April is a great time to visit Cheekwood. Your date of visit falls in line with our Cheekwood in Bloom festival where we have over 100 thousand tulips in the gardens. Our mansion was just historically renovated this summer and is a fantastic experience as you get to see how the Cheek family lived.)
